The Regulation (EU) 2024/590 establishes specific provisions for manufacturing, import, export, placing on the market, storage, and subsequent supply of substances that deplete the ozone layer. It also regulates their use, recovery, recycling, regeneration, and destruction, as well as the communication of information related to such substances and the import, export, marketing, subsequent supply, and use of products and equipment containing these substances or reliant on them for functioning.
The regulation applies to ozone-depleting substances listed in Annexes I and II, their isomers (whether alone or in mixtures), as well as products and equipment, including parts, that contain these substances or depend on them for functionality.
It is essential to conduct an analysis of the substances managed by the company and implement the necessary regulatory activities, which include:
- Identification of substances, products, and equipment falling within the scope of Regulation (EU) 2024/590.
- Verification of import and export bans applicable to the identified substances, products, and equipment.
- Communication of data listed in Annex VI for each ozone-depleting substance, with reference to the previous calendar year.
- Registration in the licensing system as required under Article 16.
- Declaration of conformity for refillable containers as mandated by Article 15.
